DeckBoss DJ (Android, com.jfdev.deckboss) is a DJ app that plays the music already on your device. The short version: your music never leaves your phone, and we run no servers that receive your data.
What the app stores, and where
- No accounts, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. The app sends no usage data to the developer.
- Your music. Read from your device's library to play it and draw waveforms. It is never uploaded, copied or shared.
- Stems. Separation into vocals, drums, bass and other runs entirely on your device, using a model bundled with the app. The resulting stems are saved in the app's internal storage or on your SD card, whichever you choose. They are never uploaded.
- Settings, controller mappings and pass/PRO status. Stored only on your device.
- USB MIDI controller signals. Processed in memory, in real time, with no network involved.
Permissions
- Read audio (
READ_MEDIA_AUDIO, orREAD_EXTERNAL_STORAGEon Android 11 and 12): to list and play your music. - Notifications and foreground service: to show progress while stems are prepared in the background.
- Billing (
com.android.vending.BILLING): for the optional PRO one-time purchase and the PRO Yearly subscription. - Advertising ID: used by Google's ads SDK (see below).
We don't request location, contacts, microphone, camera or phone-state permissions.
Third-party services
- Google Play Billing. Purchases (PRO one-time and PRO Yearly) are processed by Google Play. We receive only confirmation of the purchase or of an active subscription, never your payment details. Google's privacy policy.
- Google AdMob. Used for the rewarded ads you choose to watch to earn a controller pass, and for a banner on the Settings screen. AdMob may collect the advertising ID, IP address and device data to serve and measure ads. Before the first ad, Google's consent form (UMP) is shown, where users in the EEA and UK can accept, reject or customize. How Google uses data.
Children
DeckBoss DJ is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling the app deletes its settings, mappings and any stems kept in internal storage. You can also delete all stems from Settings › Stems › Delete all stems. Purchases stay with your Google Play account and are restored when you reinstall with the same account.
